The first day of our trip to Tanzania was a day of traveling, setting off from Cambridgeshire, UK at 5:15am and arriving at our hostel in Dar Es Salaam almost exactly 24 hours later at 5:30am the next day, after a brief stopover in istanbul airport.
When we landed in Dar Es Salaam we were naturally tired and out of sorts, but were spurred on by the sound of a very jazzy version of 'Jingle Bells' echoing from the airport speakers.
